Jeff was born and raised in Moline, Illinois, by a single mother. A three sport athlete much of his childhood, Jeff decided to forgo basketball and soccer to focus on baseball as he got into his last years of high school. The decision paid off as Jeff earned second team all state honors his senior year, which yielded a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Illinois. He played his first two years at U of I, then turned his attention to finishing his B.S. In Psychology.
For the last 23 years, Jeff has been in the clothing business in one capacity or another. He started his career in men's apparel shortly after graduation when he was hired by Bachrach. After 18 months there, Jeff interviewed and was eventually hired as a Sales Representative by Tom James Clothing of Chicago in February 2001. Although Tom James is a large operation, Jeff quickly rose in the sales and leadership ranks. By 2004, he had achieved 'Presidents Club' status for sales that put him in the top 30% of all salespeople at the time. The following year, he rose to the top 15%in sales out of the over 500 salespeople worldwide. Jeff maintained this status until leaving Tom James in 2009.
Jeff's greatest honor and achievement during his 8+ years with the company came in 2005. For the next 3 years, Jeff would spearhead the design, implementation, and growth of the women's custom clothing line at all levels. He traveled all over the country, worked directly with the factories, as well as held numerous training seminars to the over 500 salespeople at the company's annual national meetings.
In August of 2009, Jeff parted ways with Tom James of Chicago and moved to Miami, Florida to build the foundation of Geoff Alain LLC. The first three years were rough and took longer than Jeff expected to plant his feet solidly into South Florida's clothing landscape. After several years of hard work and diligence, Geoff Alain turned the corner in 2010. That year, the company had a substantial 42% growth in sales and opened many key doors that would guide the future of Geoff Alain. Jeff, and Geoff Alain have not looked back since - posting 21 - 36% growth in each year prior to the COVID pandemic in 2020.
As was so many across the world, Geoff Alain was hit hard by the effects of the COVID pandemic. Thankfully, due to some very loyal customers and wise business acumen, the business survived those rough 2 years. As people have ventured back into their offices, into court and traveling for meetings, our clients have faced new clothing challenges - clothes that don't fit, old and tired outfits, and the shift to more casual dress as the norm. As a result, Geoff Alain has bounced back post pandemic, and is back on track with substantial growth in 2022.
Today, Geoff Alain is an international company that serves over 285 clients from Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties in Florida. Additionally, we have clients in Chicago, Washington DC, New York City, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Dallas and parts of Canada. Jeff's keen sense of coordination and style has created a solid reputation and loyal clientele throughout the US and Canada.
