Jeff was born and raised in Moline, Illinois, by a single mother. A three sport athlete much of his childhood, Jeff decided to forgo basketball and soccer to focus on baseball as he got into his last years of high school. The decision paid off as Jeff earned second team all state honors his senior year, which yielded a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Illinois. He played his first two years at U of I, then turned his attention to finishing his B.S. In Psychology.
Shortly after graduation, Jeff started his career in clothing business when he was hired and soon after, managed three different stores for the Men's retailer, Bachrach. Although, Jeff earned several managerial awards during his 18 months with the company, he felt there was more out there in the clothing world for him. So, in February of 2001, Jeff interviewed with Tom James of Chicago, large custom clothier focusing of high-end clothing and personalized service. He was hired on the spot to help build their downtown Chicago office. Jeff quickly rose in the sales and leadership ranks. Within 3 years, he had achieved 'Presidents Club' status for sales that put him in the top 30% of all salespeople at the time. The following year he earned the 'Presidents Cabinet' level which is reserved for the Top 15% of sales. He maintained that level until he parted ways with the company in August 2009. In addition to being a top sales producer, Jeff assisted in the training of several new team members from 2002 - 2009. Probably Jeff's greatest honor and achievement while at Tom James came in 2005. He was asked by the President of the company to spearhead the entire Ladies Custom Division. For the following 3 years, Jeff traveled to various cities and offices to hold training sessions with the sales people in those cities, as well as worked directly with the head of manufacturing to overhaul the custom women's styles and patterns. In addition, Jeff held numerous training seminars to the over 500 sales people at the company's annual national meetings. In August of 2009, Jeff parted ways with Tom James of Chicago to launch Geoff Alain LLC. At the same time, he moved to Miami, Florida to begin building the foundation of Geoff Alain. The first three years were rough and took longer than Jeff expected to plant his feet solidly into South Florida's clothing landscape. After several years of hard work and diligence, Geoff Alain turned the corner in 2010. That year, the company had a substantial 42% growth in sales and opened many key doors to the future of Geoff Alain. Jeff, and Geoff Alain has not looked back since - posting 21 - 36% growth in each of the subsequent years. Today, Geoff Alain is an international company that serves over 250 clients from Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, as well as clients in Chicago, Washington DC, New York City, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Dallas, Columbus, and parts of Canada. Jeff's keen sense of coordination and style has created a solid reputation that has led him throughout the US and Canada. |
